Urinary Symptom Flare and Ed after Brachytherapy for Prostate Cancer Lehrer
نویسندگان
چکیده
There was a significant association of flare with ED; men with flare reported significantly more ED than men without ( P = 0.020). Men with high-risk disease reported more ED because they received more intensive treatment (hormones and increased radiation dose) than men with mediumor low-risk disease. To correct for this confounding factor, multivariate linear regression was used; the regression was significant overall ( P < 0.001), and the effects of risk group ( P < 0.001) and flare ( P < 0.026) on SHIM score were significant and independent of each other. Flare was also significantly associated with a higher pre-implant IPSS; the probability of flare was 62% for a preimplant IPSS of zero, to 94% for an IPSS of 30. CONCLUSIONS

Assessment of lower urinary symptom flare with overactive bladder symptom score and International Prostate Symptom Score in patients treated with iodine-125 implant brachytherapy: long-term follow-up experience at a single institute
BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to evaluate the combined use of the overactive bladder symptom score (OABSS) and International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) as an assessment tool for urinary symptom flare after iodine-125 (125I) implant brachytherapy. The association between urinary symptom flare and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) bounce was investigated. METHODS Changes in the IPSS and...

Oncological outcome, complications, lower urinary tract symptoms, and health-related quality of life after low-dose-rate salvage brachytherapy for recurrent prostate cancer following primary radiotherapy: a report of 8 cases
PURPOSE We evaluated our experience with low-dose-rate salvage brachytherapy for local recurrence after primary prostate radiotherapy, and described the changes in lower urinary tract symptoms and health-related quality of life. MATERIAL AND METHODS Between 2011 and 2016, eight men with local recurrence after primary prostate radiotherapy underwent iodine-125 salvage brachytherapy with a pres...

BACKGROUND Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) delivers high doses of radiation to the prostate while minimizing radiation to adjacent normal tissues. Large fraction sizes may increase the risk of functional decrements. Treatment-related bother may be more important to a patient than treatment-related dysfunction. This study reports on patient-reported outcomes following SBRT for clinica...
